Year of the Dragon

2012 is the Year of the Water Dragon. A magical year has been predicted from many disciplines. As the Chinese calendar turns on January 23 to the Dragon, OHCO is certainly in agreement.

Much has been said about an apocalyptic end on December 21, 2012, but the Chinese have a model in the I Ching that is of interest to us at this time. It is Hexagram 63 - After Completion. There is no end. Resolve to go forward. Indications are for progress and success.

Cartographers use the expression “here be dragons” to note dangerous territory and beginnings can be like that. Perhaps you are familiar with sea serpents used to mark unexplored areas of maps. Think of the ridges on the back of the dragon as the bumps along the way. Much has been overcome but looking back is self-admiration that can bring misfortune.

A fabulously complex mythological beast, the dragon encourages us to be playful and use our imaginations. The potential for creativity is alive in this animal that is perhaps a composite of all the animals of the zodiac. It is an auspicious time to untangle the knots that keep things from flowing in a pleasurable way.

The chaos is what’s ending, so stay open to getting your dragon on.

Fine dining, no whining

STOMACH CHI will easily handle vacation meals relieving discomfort and gas. Travel can often put us out of balance and I like to anticipate that and strengthening the digestive system beforehand with a little maintenance dose so I handle restaurant food and unfamiliar water.

During my recent long weekend break, I developed some digestive comfort and gas. Nothing serious, but my digestive tract is not returning to normal as soon as I would like. Do you have a product for this? What can it do to help the following?
I am afraid of over the counter medicines, which in the past have put me too far out of balance. I don't know if this is just local water differences or mysteries in the kitchens if different restaurants...

How long could one take Cold Snap?

Q:

Name: Jennifer
Location: Franktown, United States

I am taking Cold Snap (started four days ago) and was able to avoid my daughter's recent illness. I have a long term viral infection (fatigue, immune suppression) and have felt better these past few days. My question is, for a long standing health issue, how long could one take Cold Snap?

A:

The formulas all have two sets of directions (Basic Way and Another Way) printed on the label. Cold Snap can be taken as a maintenance formula indefinitely following the Basic Way directions (two caps three times a day) for some period of time (weeks, months, etc). That should provide deep level lasting changes. If a sudden onset problem (like a sick kid in the house) comes along, you may have to switch to the Another Way (as needed) method.

An opportunity for independence

OHCO is proud to work with Goodwill of Orange County. We provide people with barriers to employment an opportunity to work and thrive. For over ten years, OHCO has employed Goodwill's workers to assemble the trial size samples.

Here are a few pictures of the team and some of the many steps of the process it takes to turn out these cute little boxes. They make great stocking stuffers, tie-ons to gift wrapping, or a way to introduce a friend to an OHCO formula.

Good Luck in the Year of the Rabbit

If the Year of the Tiger (2010) had you by the tail, you’re in for a reprieve during the Year of the Rabbit.  We’re being thrown a carrot, one that could make us feel complacent, and even inspire a tendency towards self-indulgence, which might be what gave us such a troubling time last year.

While our pareidolia (patternicity) is of a man in the moon, the Chinese have a long history of seeing an image of a rabbit using a mortar and pestle to pound herbs for the Immortals.  The positive side of a carefree and indifferent Rabbit makes for a peaceful year. The Great Hare has divine aspects in many cultures and is not a warrior.  The Rabbit could bring a year of happiness and contentment.

The Rabbit, and those signs compatible with it, will experience success. For others, the Rabbit year will require quick-footed flexibility to dart the shrewdness and bolt from the tricksy.

Rabbits have a reputation for vigorous copulation and prolific reproduction. Their breeding season lasts nine months. Gestation is only 30 days, making it possible for a single female to have 800 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in only one season. Rabbits are associated with springtime, fertility and playful sexuality.
