Year of the Dragon
2012 is the Year of the Water Dragon. A magical year has been predicted from many disciplines. As the Chinese calendar turns on January 23 to the Dragon, OHCO is certainly in agreement.
Much has been said about an apocalyptic end on December 21, 2012, but the Chinese have a model in the I Ching that is of interest to us at this time. It is Hexagram 63 - After Completion. There is no end. Resolve to go forward. Indications are for progress and success.
Cartographers use the expression “here be dragons” to note dangerous territory and beginnings can be like that. Perhaps you are familiar with sea serpents used to mark unexplored areas of maps. Think of the ridges on the back of the dragon as the bumps along the way. Much has been overcome but looking back is self-admiration that can bring misfortune.
A fabulously complex mythological beast, the dragon encourages us to be playful and use our imaginations. The potential for creativity is alive in this animal that is perhaps a composite of all the animals of the zodiac. It is an auspicious time to untangle the knots that keep things from flowing in a pleasurable way.
The chaos is what’s ending, so stay open to getting your dragon on.
